Types of dentures available at Ten Mile Smiles

One or more missing teeth can complicate speaking, eating, and smiling. If you have experienced tooth loss, replacement is highly recommended as soon as possible to restore the smile’s appearance, health, and function and to keep the existing teeth from shifting. The team at Ten Mile Smiles in Meridian, Idaho, is pleased to offer dentures to assist patients in repairing their smiles.

What types of dentures are available at Ten Mile Smiles?

Our team is pleased to offer two primary types of dentures: partial and complete.

  • Partial dentures. With partial dentures, one or more teeth in the dental arch are fixed with an appliance that includes a metal framework and artificial teeth that slide into place.
  • Complete dentures. All of the teeth lost in the smile will require a more substantial denture, such as a complete or “full” denture. This acrylic restoration is placed over the ridge of the dental arch and replaces all the teeth on the upper or lower jaw. Complete dentures are held in place using natural suction or by adding denture adhesives along the gum ridge and inside of the denture itself.

Which type of artificial teeth is right for me?

During your initial visit, Drs. Bernt White, Warren Willis, and Chad Cooley of Ten Mile Smiles will evaluate your oral health and wellness and discuss your current dental situation. We also take the time to ask questions about your lifestyle, budget, and what you would like to achieve with your smile to get a better idea as to which type of dental restoration is best for you. We then develop a treatment plan that meets your needs and helps you get your smile to optimum health and wellness.
